A Florida Senator has pre-filed a bill related to windshield inspections. The bill is identical to a previously filed House bill.
The bill in its current form proposes to add the following language to Section 1, Section 627.7288, of the Florida Statutes:
A policy under this section may require an inspection of the damaged windshield of a covered motor vehicle before the windshield repair or replacement is authorized by the insurer.
The bill was pre-filed by Sen. Dorothy L. Hukill in the Florida state Senate on October 3.
An identical bill was pre-filed by Rep. Rene Plasencia in the Florida House on November 28.
