Florida Legislator Proposes Bill Related to Windshield Inspections

A bill has been pre-filed in the Florida state legislature that has implications for doing business in the state.

The bill in its current form proposes to add the following language to Section 1, Section 627.7288, of the Florida Statutes:

A policy under this section may require an inspection of the damaged windshield of a covered motor vehicle before the windshield repair or replacement is authorized by the insurer.

The bill was pre-filed by Rep. Rene Plasencia on November 28. Additionally, Sen. Dorothy L. Hukill pre-filed an identical bill in the Florida state Senate on October 3.
