AGSC Explores New Certification Programs

May 31, 2019

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) is in the very early stages of creating a Customer Service Representative (CSR) certification program and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) certification program.

The AGSC Education Committee is working to create the CSR certification program and will work with the AGSC ADAS committee to create the ADAS certification program.

The CSR certification program will be multi-tiered to cover the varied definitions of company CSRs across the industry.

The goal of the ADAS certification program would be to provide technicians with a general knowledge of ADAS recalibration, tools and procedures. Two programs likely will be developed—one for technicians who do both installation and recalibration and one for technicians who only complete calibration.

“Our technician certification program has been very successful in setting Qualified, Certified and Master technicians apart from their uncertified peers,” says Vincent Lamarco, director of certifications for AGSC. “We are excited to expand these efforts into the areas of customer service and ADAS.”
