Jacques Navant is a self-proclaimed nerd. He drove this fact home during the opening session of Auto Glass Week™ 2024 with a literal army of military figurines presented to everyone attending.
Though already well-known to many in the industry, Navant took the time to introduce himself as the AGSC’s new president and explain his goals for the organization during the first educational session on September 19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

He shared pictures of the fan memorabilia decorating his office at Don’s Mobile Glass in Modesto, California. He took the audience on a journey to galaxies far, far away with his Star Wars merch and then back to terra firma with an X-Files poster proclaiming “The Truth is Out There.”
“There’s always the unknown out there … and how that connects to the AGSC is we want to future-proof your business to go through that unknown,” Navant told the crowd.
As for the little army men, Navant explained that his father had been in the military. Once he got out of the military, he became a professional chef. Between observing his Dad’s career and pursuing his own, Navant says he earned the qualities that would help him be a good president for AGSC.
“I am probably the strangest choice for president; I am not a politician, I am not a public speaker … I think I was chosen as president because I am still in the field, and I understand what a technician deals with,” he says.
The audience members walked away with more than just plastic figurines as a memento of Navant’s words. Everyone who brought their army man to the AGSC booth got a Starbucks gift card.
