The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) is in the final stretch of the harmonization of its Registered Member Company program and its Certified Auto Glass Technician program. The programs will be joined together by the end of December 2018. What does this mean for members?
This means that technicians at all Registered Member Companies will be required to be certified by AGSC by December 31, 2018. New technicians of Registered Member Companies will be required to be certified within six months of their hire date. If the technician is already AGSC Qualified or AGSC Certified when hired, then he/she will be still be considered certified at your company.
“It is important to note that this means technicians need to have taken and passed the AGSC’s technician certification exam to be considered certified,” says Kathy Bimber, director of operations for AGSC.
We encourage companies to help their technicians to become AGSC-Certified early as waiting until after December 15 may cause them to miss the December 31 deadline.
Please contact info@agsc.org with questions about the harmonization.
If you are unsure if you are certified by the AGSC, please refer to this link to ensure your name appears: https://agsc.org/technicians.php.
Please note: The offices of the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will be closed December 21 through January 2 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. We will re-open on Thursday, January 3.
