Community is key for All Star Auto Glass. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario-based shop is one of the Auto Glass Safety Council’s (AGSC) newest members.

It has been a family-run company deeply involved with its neighbors since its founding. Justin and Whitney MacKenzie took over the company in 2023, and before that it was run by John and Debbie, a couple, who founded it in 1992.

“It’s been run by a husband-and-wife team for the majority of its existence,” says Whitney.

Justin and Whitney like to give back to the people around them.

All Star Auto Glass prides itself it its community and customer care.

“Being part of a smaller community, it’s very important to us to support the people who trust us with their vehicles every day,” Whitney says. “By them trusting us, we get to keep this wonderful business open and can continue giving back to the community.”

Justin loves classic cars and motorcycles, so All Star often contributes to local motorcycle and classic car foundations. They support other community small businesses with a referral program, Whitney says. All Star has random draws to select a local business that they’ll recommend to customers if they need the services that company provides.

The couple’s passion for the community also motivates them to provide their customers with the best auto glass repair and replacement they can.

“We always want our team to know how important it is when a customer drops off a vehicle and what they’re trusting us with,” Whitney says. “We want to make sure they’re taken care of and they’re safe when they get back on the road.”

Following the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard™ (AGRSS) helps them work toward this goal.

Following the AGRSS Standard helps ensure All Star Auto Glass can provide the quality of work the team strives for.

“Everybody needs to be held to a standard of operations so the customer can have confidence in what we [and other AGSC Registered Members] are doing because everybody’s being held to a standard,” Whitney says. “…It’s important to be able to [tell customers] that we have someone keeping an eye on us, and it’s for your safety.”

The MacKenzies’ dedication to community also influenced their involvement with AGSC.

“When we heard about AGSC, we wanted to make sure we were part of that community,” Whitney says.

“We want to keep our finger on the industry’s pulse, making sure we are doing the best we can from our customers and staying connected with [other AGSC shops] from around the world that are doing what we do,” she adds. “With AGSC, we have a community behind us to help answer the questions and concerns we have.”
