Michael D. Brown of Maricopa Auto Glass in Maricopa, Ariz., recently passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam.

Brown has been in the auto glass industry for nine years and opened his own shop, Maricopa Auto Glass, four years ago.

“I started installing [auto glass] shortly after moving to Arizona from Massachusetts, with help being trained by James Niemi of Quality 1st Glass,” says Brown. Both Maricopa Auto Glass and Quality 1st Glass (of Glendale, Ariz.) are AGSC Registered Member Companies.

Brown says AGSC certification is important to him for a number of reasons.

“I chose to get certified because I believe every technician in the industry should be certified and I hope that one day the industry here in Arizona will be regulated that way,” he says. “But I think it’s important to have my Master certification for me at least because I would like my customers to be completely be comfortable with the technician they chose to work on their glass.”

In his spare time, Brown enjoys underground mining and spending time with his family.
