Noted industry installation expert Jeff Olive has joined the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) staff as Director of Quality and Training. In his new role, Olive will manage AGSC’s Company Accreditation (auditing) Program, develop and manage training, and provide enhanced safety services to members.
“We are delighted to welcome Jeff to the AGSC team,” said President Mike Schenian. “He knows the importance of safety and quality because he has lived it, first as an installer, then as a store manager, a trainer, and a quality manager. I can think of no person better for this role than Jeff.”
Olive began his career as an installer, working for privately owned GlassPro in South Carolina. He was promoted to store manager and then trainer. He transitioned to work as a quality manager for Safelite Auto Glass after it purchased GlassPro in January 2019.
In September 2005, Olive became the first gold medalist in the international Auto Glass Technician Competition, named the world’s best auto glass installer. He is a former chair of AGSC’s Education and ADAS committees and has served on several industry committees. Olive also received the Len Stolk Special Achievement Award for Service to the auto glass industry in 2011. He is a certified AGSC Master Technician.
“Jeff will work to serve AGSC members of all sizes,” said AGSC chairperson Debra Levy. “Not only will he oversee AGSC’s auditing functions, but he will be developing new safety-related programs for members. Auto glass companies have never had a place to review accident stats, workers comp rates, safety procedures, and more as an industry,” she added. “These new services will be coming on board under Jeff’s tutelage.”
