A bill is under review in the Hawaii legislature that “specifies that the regulation of motor vehicle service contracts does not apply to agreements issued by automobile clubs; [and] clarifies the allowable scope of motor vehicle service contracts regulated by the Insurance Commissioner to include contracts for certain motor vehicle repair and replacement services.”
The bill, HB 154, was introduced on January 18. It passed the Consumer Protection and Commerce Committee on February 12 and now is under the review of the full House.
