A bill that proposes to add language related to windshield inspections to Section 1, Section 627.7288, of the Florida Statutes recently was passed by the Senate’s Commerce and Tourism Committee.

According to an analysis of the bill by the Commerce and Tourism Committee, the bill “prohibits motor vehicle repair shops and their employees from offering an inducement to a customer in exchange for making an insurance claim for motor vehicle glass replacement or repair. This prohibition also applies to individuals who are not employees of the repair shop, but are compensated for their solicitation of insurance claims.”
