Florida Fails to Move Assignment of Benefits Bill

The 2021 Florida Legislative Session concluded this week with controversial auto glass Assignment of Benefits legislation never having moved out of a Senate committee.  The bill, S 906, sought to prohibit glass shops from offering anything of value in exchange for making an insurance claim for vehicle glass replacement or repair. Earlier in the session the language of the bill was briefly inserted into broader auto insurance legislation that was being debated, and eventually passed, but was quickly deleted.
