A bill is under review in the Florida legislature that aims to “prohibit motor vehicle repair shops or their employees from offering anything of value to a customer in exchange for making an insurance claim for motor vehicle glass replacement or repair, including offers made through certain persons, etc.”
The bill, S 312, was introduced in the Florida Senate on September 17. It is under the review of the Senate Insurance and Banking Subcommittee and was on the committee’s agenda for November 12 at 1:30 p.m. but was temporarily postponed.
A similar bill, H 169, was introduced in the House on September 16. It is under the review of the House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee.
