The Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) educated more than 30 insurance company officials and agents at its recent Insurers’ CEU Forum held in early October at Auto Glass Week™. The forum was held on October 3 in West Palm Beach, Fla., just before Auto Glass Week got underway and provided 3 CEU credits to participants.
Industry veteran Joel Timmons led the informative course, approved for CE credits by the states of Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas and the commonwealth of Virginia. He discussed the ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard as well as the AGSC, AGSC Registered Member Companies, and how they work to ensure the safety of policyholders.
“We had a great turnout and were able to educate a number of insurers about the importance of safe auto glass installations,” says AGSC director of operations Kathy Bimber. “We received great feedback from those in attendance and one of our members is already planning an AGSC insurer seminar in their own area to further this education.”
She adds, “We also had several insurers express their interest in joining the AGSC as associate members.”
Any member interested in offering this course to insurance agents in their area should contact the AGSC office at 540/720-7484, ext. 137.
