An amended version of West Virginia service contract legislation has passed the Senate by a vote of 32-1. A previous version of the bill had passed the House 93-0. The bill now moves back to the House for concurrence with the Senate amendment. The amended version of the bill adds “the repair of chips or cracks in, or the replacement of, motor vehicle windshields as a result of damage caused by road hazards” to the definition of a Service Contract that is exempt from West Virginia insurance law. It also adds repairing windshield chips and cracks on leased vehicles to the service contract definition.
