West Virginia has enacted Service Contract legislation which adds “the repair of chips or cracks in, or the replacement of, motor vehicle windshields as a result of damage caused by road hazards” to the definition of a Service Contract that is exempt from West Virginia insurance law. The bill, HB 4149, was signed by the Governor on March 7 and becomes effective on May 27, 2020. The new law also adds repairing windshield chips and cracks on leased vehicles to the service contract definition.
