The Virginia legislature has enacted a law regulating recalibration business practices.
Virginia’s Motor Vehicle Glass Act was enacted on April 22. The legislation was introduced in mid-February.
The law, as enacted, requires auto glass companies to inform customers whether their vehicles require recalibration, whether the shop can perform the recalibration, and whether the recalibration was successful afterward. It also requires companies to inform customers if recalibration fails or cannot be performed, and to tell them to bring the vehicle elsewhere for recalibration.
