Utah Bill Would Move ADAS under Consumer Protection

January 14, 2021

Legislation has been introduced in the Utah Senate to move provisions enacted last year regarding Advanced Driver Assistance Systems under the Division of Consumer Protection of the Department of Commerce.  The bill, introduced by the author of last year’s law, Senator Curtis Bramble, would move the enacted provisions from the Motor Vehicle Traffic Code – Vehicle Equipment section of Utah law.  The law passed last year placed requirements on auto glass service providers to provide their customers with certain information involving calibrations on ADAS equipped vehicles, such as they if they were needed and performed, and to meet or exceed original manufacturer’s specifications.
