The Four Courses of Inspection

June 20, 2024

The finest restaurants present their gourmet food in four courses, building up to the exquisite main course and finishing with the most decadent of desserts. Are you hungry to learn more?

A quality chef will only use the purest ingredients for your dining pleasure. Choosing these ingredients is the first step, and after they have been obtained only the correct ingredients in the right combination will suffice. Next, a chef needs the proper setup for culinary creation. Is the kitchen in good working order? Electrical issues or substandard appliances will not result in the dining experience anticipated. Finally, the chef’s crafting is complete and it’s time for the presentation. Your meal is served!

In many ways, the chef who receives excellent ratings for his or her culinary skills and presentation is much like a highly-skilled AGSC-Certified auto glass technician. The successful chef has high-end clientele that are not afraid to shell out for the gourmet food they will receive. Ask yourself, what are you, as an auto glass technician, serving up for your customers?

Let me explain:

Only the purest ingredients must be used.

Before you complete any auto glass services, make sure you’ve thoroughly inspected the parts you’re using. Do they meet the correct standards to keep the customer safe? Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) registered members can find a Parts Inspection Checklist to ensure they’re using “pure ingredients” under the For Members section of AGSC.org.

Use the correct ingredients in the right combination.

Now that you’ve established that you have quality, safe parts, do the parts fit the vehicle you’re working on? Make sure the parts match each other and the job you’re doing. AGSC registered members can find a Part Comparison Checklist in the Member Resources section under the For Members tab on www.agsc.org.

The kitchen must be in order.

Have you inspected the vehicle before beginning your job? This critical step keeps you and the customer on the same page and helps ensure safety. AGSC registered members can find a Pre-Inspection Checklist in the Member Resources section under the For Members tab on www.agsc.org.

The final presentation.

Inspecting the vehicle after the job is just as important as before the job. You get to share the fruits of your labor with your customer and send them safely on their way. AGSC registered members can find a Post-Inspection Checklist in the Member Resources section under the For Members tab on www.agsc.org.
