A Texas bill that is related to auto insurance has been reported favorably by the House Insurance Committee.
The bill, HB 1348, “relat[es] to certain insurance practices with respect to repair of motor vehicles.” Among its provisions, it notes that in this law, “‘repair person or facility’ does not include a person who exclusively provides automobile glass replacement, glass repair services, or glass products.”
The bill was introduced on February 4. It was referred to the Insurance Committee. The committee proposed a substitute version of the bill on April 17 and reported it favorably. On April 28 the committee report was distributed.
