A Maine bill that would have established a registration process and mandatory standards for independent motor vehicle repair facilities “authorized to perform repairs by an original equipment manufacturer” was defeated in the House and Senate after a May 20 negative recommendation from the Joint Committee on Housing and Economic Development. The stated purpose of
