A bill has been pre-filed for the 2023 Legislative Session in the South Carolina House that would prohibit insurers from raising rates based on the number of auto glass claims. Existing state law already makes South Carolina a zero deductible state for claims involving auto glass repair or replacement. The bill would extend the status to prohibit insurers from considering the number of zero deductible auto glass claims made when determining the premium rates for the insured’s policy.
