Peter Brown’s recent biopsy revealed lymphoma, but he reassures all concerned industry members that his prognosis is good.
The Auto Glass Safety Council vice president and president of Tiny & Sons Auto Glass in Pembroke, Massachusetts, learned he had a tumor in his brain in late November. Doctors performed a biopsy on Dec. 2, and tests revealed that Brown has a form of lymphoma.
Peter Brown hasn’t let his diagnosis stop him from helping others. He recently volunteered as Santa for a local Toys for Tots event.Brown says that his doctors assured him that the cancer is highly treatable.
“They said that because I’m so healthy in general, they can do a shorter, more intensive treatment instead of drawing it out,” he says.
Brown has started treatment and is positive about the outcome.
“They bring me so much food in the hospital, and all I have to do is push a button to get whatever I need,” he jokes.
He hasn’t let his illness stop him from serving his community. He volunteered as Santa at a local charity event just a few days after his diagnosis.
Brown says he’s touched by the kind messages and get-well gifts he’s received from those in the auto glass industry, and he looks forward to “showing off [his] cool new scar” at the Feb. 3-4 AGSC committee meetings in Honolulu.
