A North Carolina bill that “amends the motor vehicle laws of the state to regulate mini-trucks” has been sent to the state’s governor for review.
Among its provisions, the bill, H 179, adds the following, underlined text to the part of the law that mentions windshields on mini-trucks:
A low-speed vehicle or mini-truck shall be equipped with headlamps, stop lamps, turn signal lamps, tail lamps, reflex reflectors, parking brakes, rearview mirrors, windshields, windshield wipers, speedometer, seat belts, and a vehicle identification number. Any such required equipment shall be maintained in proper working order.
The bill was introduced in the House in February. It passed the House on March 20 and was sent to Senate. The Senate passed the bill on June 12 and it was sent to the governor on June 14.
