AGSC Designated "Highway Safety Champion"
The Auto Glass Safety Council has been designated a "2021 Highway Safety Champion" by the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA). AGSC is working with GHSA, comprised of lead Highway Safety officials in each state government, to improve windshield safety and reduce the impact of automobile crashes.

AGSC Technician Certification is Required
In 2015, the AGSC Board of Directors made it an AGSC membership requirement that all auto glass replacement (AGR) technicians employed by AGSC Registered Member Companies be AGSC certified technicians. This requirement took effect on December 31, 2018.

Maryland Proposes New Auto Glass Replacement Safety Regulations
On August 27, the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) issued proposed Safety Glass Replacement Standards regulations pursuant to Maryland Ch. 461 (H.B. 519) Acts of 2021, the new auto glass safety replacement law passed by the state legislature earlier this year.

ShowHauler Trucks Recalls Vehicles Due to Faulty Adhesive
ShowHauler Trucks Inc. (ShowHauler) announced that it is recalling certain 2018-2020 Garage Coach, Motorhome, and Toter Coach vehicles equipped with Hehr 6400 Series Windows. The adhesive that bonds the vented portion of the window may fail.

Ford Recalls 5,000 Mach-Es in Canada Over Loose Windshield, Roof
Owners of affected vehicles will have their windshields reinstalled and panoramic roofs glued properly at Ford dealers . . . The first recall (Manufacturer Recall Number 21C22) concerns 3,178 units sold in Canada. On these vehicles, the windshield may not be properly attached, causing the glass to become loose and separate from the vehicle in case of a crash.

Mustang Mach-E 2021 Recalled for Improperly Bonded Windshields
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall Sept. 14 for the inadequate front windshield bonding in the Ford Mustang Mach-E 2021. Ford specifically recalled the electric SUV in Canada because the glass roof can fall off and the windshield detach.
