Precision Procedures for Exposed Glass
“The introduction of the exposed-glass mounting has led to a paramount concern for installers not to damage the exposed pinchweld wall. If the pinchweld is damaged during installation, and priming exceeds the underside moulding weather mark, there is a real possibility that our customers will not like the look. Welcome These Certified Master Auto Glass Technicians
A number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Certified Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of August. The exam is an online test consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Accredited Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard; intermediate-level automotive electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and equipment; OEM sunroof repair and replacement techniques; advanced wind noise and water leak diagnosis and repair; and current standards and regulations that apply to the auto glass industry.

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) has published its fall newsletter designed especially for insurance companies. The Fall Insurers’ Newsletter is available in a customizable format for its Registered Member Companies to download and distribute to their insurance contacts. The customizable newsletter includes a spot for AGSC Registered Member Companies to add their own company information within a PDF and then either email out or distribute in a printed format.

Non-Compliant Registered Companies to be Listed on AGSC Website
To avoid misleading the public about the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) Registration status of any auto glass installation company, the AGSC has announced that it will now identify and list those companies who have forfeited their AGSC Registration because of failure to permit a scheduled audit or otherwise to have been found non-compliant with the AGSC Registration Program.

Windshield wipers could break on 367,808 General Motors’ Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain 2013 models, according to a recall from the automaker.

Chrysler Asks Court for Summary Judgment in Alleged Sunroof Defect Lawsuit
Though numerous plaintiffs filed the original complaint against Chrysler over an alleged sunroof defect, only one remains, according to the automaker’s court document. Chrysler’s attorneys say the automaker did everything it was legally obligated to do under warranty and the lawsuit should be dismissed.
