AGSC to Hold Annual Meeting, Certification Training, in Reno, Nev., in September
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, September 29, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., in Reno, Nev. The meeting will be held the day before Auto Glass Week™ gets underway. Auto Glass Week will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.

Volvo Glass Bonding Issue
“I want to thank my readers for sending me issues involving safe installations. The newest one came from my friend, James Tremayne of Professional Glass in Seattle, Wash. His email mentioned a glass adhesion failure he witnessed. This is the second time I have seen Volvo glass with bonding issues. The first was with pre-primed parts coming from Volvo dealerships. A number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Certified Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of April. The exam is an online test consisting of 50 multiple choice questions, allowing an average of three minutes per question to answer.

European Cars Will Automatically Call Emergency Services After a Crash
The European Union has approved plans to install an emergency call feature in all cars and light vans from March 31st, 2018. The system, known as eCall, automatically contacts emergency services in the event of a crash, as determined by in-car sensors, such as those triggering the vehicle’s airbags. eCall establishes an audio connection with emergency operators and automatically transmits basic data including the vehicle's type, location, and the time of the crash. Passengers and witnesses will also be able to activate eCall manually by pressing an in-car button.
