AGSC, Governors' Safety Group to Collaborate
"Great discussion! Thank you for your work to keep your customers safe," tweeted Jonathan Adkins, Executive Director of the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), to @AutoGlassSafety (the AGSC Twitter handle) after a March 18 Zoom meeting between the leaderships of the GHSA and the AGSC. GHSA represents the state and territorial highway safety offices that implement federal programs to address behavioral highway safety issues.

AGSC Issues Calibration Troubleshooting Checklist
The Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) has released a troubleshooting checklist for use with vehicles that require calibration of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) after auto glass replacement.

Auto Glass Week™ will be held June 7-9, 2021 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. This exciting event brings all segments of the auto glass industry under one roof for quality education, business-building and nail-biting competitions.

Auto Glass Week™ 2021 Competitions with Registrations Still Open
Auto Glass Week™ 2021 is just around the corner and with it come several competitions. Of the four competitions that take place, three have registrations that are still open. The competitions will take place Monday, June 7 through Wednesday, June 9 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Auto Glass Safety Bill Passed in Maryland

Auto glass safety advocates are rejoicing as the Maryland General Assembly legislation that will incorporate the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS) into state law is passed. An idea that began with the drafting of a "model bill" culminated on April 6 when the Maryland Senate passed HB 519 by a vote of 47-0 after the House of Delegates had approved the legislation by a vote of 128-6 on March 12.

Ford Issues Windshield Adhesion Recall
Ford Motor Company (Ford) recently issued a safety recall for select truck models. According to the company, the affected vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards because the front windshields are inadequately bonded to the vehicle body structure.

Sunroof Issue Sparks New Recall
BMW recently issued a recall that impacts roughly 14,000 of its 2020 and 2021 228i and M235i vehicle models because of sunroof issues. This issue according to the vehicle manufacturer, stems from the vehicles lack of compliance with a certain Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS).

Recalls to Keep an Eye On
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently issued three recalls from Ford Motor Company (Ford), BMW, Newmar Corporation (Newmar), and Daimler Vans USA, LLC (Daimler).
