“Why do people often fight change? Is it because change is uncomfortable? Is it because people are convinced their way is better, despite all of the evidence to the contrary? I think it is a little of both. I have personally witnessed heated discussions that rarely change minds or beliefs. In my interactions with technicians over the years, there seems to be a competition between installation procedures. Two perennial favorites are the arguments over 'tucking' or 'stuffing' the glass without pulling the cowl panel versus pulling the cowl panel, and squabbles over the benefits of round bead versus triangular bead urethane application.” –Bob Beranek

Welcome These Master Auto Glass Technicians
A number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the months of April and May. The exam is an online test consisting of 70 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard."

Master Technician Spotlight: Michael D. Brown, Maricopa Auto Glass
Michael D. Brown of Maricopa Auto Glass in Maricopa, Ariz., recently passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the months of April and May. The exam is an online test consisting of 70 multiple choice questions. Brown has been in the auto glass industry for nine years and opened his own shop, Maricopa Auto Glass, four years ago.

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold a training accreditation program in West Palm Beach, Fla., in October. The course will be held on Friday, October 6, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The exam will follow at 2 p.m. that day.

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold its 2017 annual member meeting on Tuesday, October 3, in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be held the day before Auto Glass Week™ 2017, October 4-6, kicks off. Auto Glass Week will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and Hilton West Palm Beach.

AGSC to Hold Insurers’ CEU Forum in Florida; Three CEUs Available
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will offer an Insurers’ Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Forum on Tuesday afternoon, October 3, just before Auto Glass Week™ gets underway in West Palm Beach, Fla. This will be the second year the AGSC has held a CEU course for insurers.

Attorney General Jim Hood announced the release of the Consumer's Guide to Insurance and Auto Body Repair.
