The Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) will hold an Insurers' CEU Forum for the insurance community on Tuesday afternoon, October 3, in West Palm Beach, Fla. The seminar will provide education about auto glass safety and 3 CEU credits to participants. The course has been approved by the states of Florida, Ohio and South Carolina.

The Audit: The AGSC Distinction
"When the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) (formerly the AGRSS™ Council) was founded, it was with the goal of making auto glass installations safe for the consumer. In 2009, AGSC added the audit component as a requirement for all of its Registered Member Companies in an effort to increase consumer safety further by ensuring that each company was replacing auto glass according to the ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard. Register Now for Member Meeting
Registration is open for the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s 2017 annual member meeting this fall. The meeting will be held on the morning of Tuesday, October 3, in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton West Palm Beach. A lunch will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. before the AGSC Insurers’ CEU Forum gets underway.

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold a technician training accreditation program in West Palm Beach, Fla., in October. The course will be held on Friday, October 6, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The exam will follow at 2 p.m. that day.

Chrysler Recalls Certain Dodge Caravans Due to Air Bag Defect
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall on certain Chrysler vehicles, specifically certain 2011-2012 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles due to an air bag defect. According to the notice, approximately 209,135 vans are affected.

General Motors (GM) is still in hot water when it comes to the company’s headlights. Chester Steele, a resident of California, has filed a class action lawsuit against the company alleging certain 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX models are equipped with defective headlights.

WY Bill: Owners Can Choose OEM Parts at No Extra Cost
A proposed amendment to Chapter 19 by the Wyoming Department of Insurance (DOI) that would allow vehicle owners the right to choose OEM parts at no extra cost, is currently awaiting approval by Gov. Matt Mead. Some auto glass repair and replacement companies and auto insurers have already opposed the measure, stating consumers will be confused as to which replacement parts will be covered by the new regulation, specifically glass.
