The Most Common Audit Non-Compliance
"In her latest blog on the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) website, 'The Learning Curve,' Penny Ouellette of Orion Registrar states that the most common error (non-compliance) found during last year’s audits was that companies 'did not have training records on AGRSS™ Standard for all applicable staff.' The ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS 003-2015 Standard was approved in early 2015 and AGSC began auditing companies to this Standard in 2016. One of the new requirements that went into effect was the addition of an educational requirement to Section 9 – Education." -Kathy Bimber

Welcome These Master Auto Glass Technicians
A number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Certified Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of March. The exam is an online test consisting of 70 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard; intermediate-level automotive electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and equipment; OEM sunroof repair and replacement techniques; advanced wind noise and water leak diagnosis and repair; and current standards and regulations that apply to the auto glass industry.

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold its 2017 annual member meeting on Tuesday, October 3, in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be held the day before Auto Glass Week™ 2017, October 4-6, kicks off. Auto Glass Week will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and Hilton West Palm Beach.

Mercedes-Benz Issues Recall Due to Defect Involving Airbag Deployment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued two separate recall reports affecting airbag deployment of certain 2017 E300, E300 4Matic, 2016 AMG GT-S, GLC300, CLA250 and other Mercedes-Benz models.

On March 29, Ford issued a compliance recall of 111 certain 2017 Ford Edge models for missing windshield header welds.

Volkswagen Issues Recall Due to Forceful Airbag
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall report on certain Volkswagen vehicles, specifically 11,618 2017 Audi A3 and S3 Sedan models that may have a defect that causes the front passenger airbag to deploy with more force then necessary in a low-speed collision, putting the occupant at greater risk for injury.
