A member of the Mississippi House of Representatives has introduced a bill to amend the state’s insurance law “to provide the most an insurer will be required to pay for the repair of a motor vehicle is the prevailing market rate that the vehicle could be repaired for in accordance with the manufacturer’s suggested repair standards.”
The bill was introduced on January 5 by Rep. Becky Currie and referred to the state’s House Insurance Committee. It will take effect on July 1 if passed.
