Cory Thompson of Specialty Auto Glass in Sandpoint, Idaho, recently renewed his Master Auto Glass certification with the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC).

Thompson has been in the auto glass industry for about 40 years. “I started out in a shop that did everything from auto glass and hack-outs to commercial glazing,” he says. “My first auto glass installation was actually done on my own vehicle.”

In 1991, his company became a Speedy Auto Glass franchise and he became the manager. “Speedy required their installers to be NGA-certified so I took the master test and passed,” Thompson says. “I have maintained my certification throughout the years as the NGA certification evolved into AGSC.”

Eventually, Thompson purchased his own Speedy/Ziebart franchise with his wife, and they ran that company for about ten years. “We decided to go out on our own, [and] when the franchise agreement was up, we started Specialty Auto Glass and have been in business since,” says Thompson.
