Melissa Martin says she and her husband Jason are keeping busy and “getting back to the basics” after a fire on Christmas day destroyed their house and everything in it.
The couple owns Wisefly Auto Glass in Chipley, Florida. The shop has been a longtime AGSC registered member, and the family is well known for their dedication to auto glass safety and helping others in the industry.
Jason and Melissa Martin lost everything in a Christmas Day house fire.“We’re working to get demolition permits so we can start rebuilding,” Melissa Martin says. “It’s definitely not an easy process.”
She says that she and Jason have received an outpouring of support from the auto glass industry, including their AGSC family.
“So many great people have been giving and even offering to come help out with our work routes at the shop,” Melissa Martin says. “Jason and I both feel called to help others, so it has been humbling to be on the receiving end. We’re very grateful to everyone and for everything we have … and we plan to keep helping others, since there are so many people that have less than we do.”
Though Melissa Martin emphasizes that she doesn’t want anyone to feel obligated, she and Jason are accepting donations via Venmo (username @jasonmelissamartin for “Melissa Martin”) to help them rebuild.
