A Massachusetts bill has been introduced in both the House and Senate there that would amend the definition of service contract to include windshield repair and replacement service. If passed, windshield repair and replacement would then have to adhere to regulations of service contracts. A Senate bill with a similar amendment was also introduced by Senator James E. Timilty. The House bill was introduced by Rep Angelo J. Puppolo Jr.
