Iowa Considers Legislation to Adjust Light Transmittance Requirements

A bill has been filed in the Iowa Senate that could change the state’s required light transmittance for car windows.

The bill, S2037, aims to specify a required minimum light transmittance of 35 percent for windshields, side windows and side wings to the front, left or right of driver.

The bill was introduced on January 16 and referred to the Senate Transportation Committee.
