Idaho Bill Seeks to Amend Service Reimbursement Policy Requirements

The Idaho House of Representatives currently is reviewing a bill that seeks to update the Idaho Motor Vehicle Service Contract Act, which was enacted into law in 1993. According to a summary of the bill, “the proposed legislation moves the authority to enforce the Act from the Attorney General to the Department of Insurance.”

In addition, the proposed legislation, H 521, clarifies the definition of a service contract to expressly authorize several types of contracts, including “contracts to repair or replace windshield damage by road hazards.”

The bill was introduced to the Idaho House of Representatives on February 9.
