A Florida House bill related to windshield inspections was officially introduced and referred to the Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, which is a subcommittee of the Commerce Committee, yesterday.
The bill in its current form proposes to add the following language to Section 1, Section 627.7288, of the Florida Statutes:
A policy under this section may require an inspection of the damaged windshield of a covered motor vehicle before the windshield repair or replacement is authorized by the insurer.
The bill was pre-filed in the state’s House by Rep. Rene Plasencia on November 28. Additionally, Sen. Dorothy L. Hukill pre-filed an identical bill in the Florida state Senate on October 3.
