Education Committee to Update AGSC Tech Certification Exam

May 24, 2017

The Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Education Committee currently is working to update its AGSC technician certification exams with new questions and knowledge areas.

Currently, the tests consist of 70 questions each for both the General and Master Technician certification exams. The project underway is designed to add a significant number of questions to the item bank with a goal to reach 1,000 questions that will rotate randomly through the certification exams.

“We’re really excited about these changes to the certification exams,” says committee chair Jeff Olive. “We also appreciate all those working hard to contribute questions and update the exams.”

Additionally, the AGSC Education Committee published the new “Certified Auto Glass Technician Handbook” in 2016.  It is a study resource for experienced auto glass technicians who wish to sit for either the AGSC Certified Auto Glass Technician or Certified Master Auto Glass Technician Exam.

“The topics included on the exams reflect the voluntary industry standards for acceptable practice and relate directly to the tasks and body of knowledge listed in the job analysis and exam specifications,” says Vinny Lamarco, certifications director for the AGSC. “This handbook is the starting point for preparing to take the certification exam and should be combined with on-the-job training/experience as well as with the many industry sources available industry-wide.”
