The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) is in the final stretch of the harmonization of its Registered Member Company program and its Certified Auto Glass Technician program. The programs will be joined together by the end of December 2018.
This means that all Registered Member Companies will be required to have all of their auto glass replacement technicians certified by AGSC by December 31, 2018. New technicians of Registered Member Companies will be required to be AGSC-Certified within six months of their hire date. If the technician is AGSC-Qualified or AGSC-Certified when hired, then he/she will be still be considered certified at your company.
“There will be a number of benefits as AGSC expands its message to say ‘By using an AGSC Registered Member Company you can be assured all technicians are AGSC-certified,’” says AGSC president Debra Levy. “We will also be able to expand our message to fleet, insurance and governmental entities.”
We encourage companies to certify their technicians early as waiting until after December 15 may cause you to miss the December 31 deadline.
So what happens if your technicians aren’t AGSC-certified by December 31? “Your company will be removed from AGSC’s list of Registered Member Companies,” says Levy.
Please contact email@example.com with questions about the harmonization.
Please note: The offices of the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will be closed December 21 through January 2 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. We will re-open on Thursday, January 3.
