Controversial New Hampshire ADAS Legislation Reintroduced

January 3, 2020

A controversial Advanced Driver Assistance System Calibration bill was reintroduced into the 2020 Legislative Session in New Hampshire. The bill is similar to legislation that passed the House and Senate last year but was vetoed by Governor Sununu in August. A September legislative attempt to override the veto and enact the bill, supported by the Automotive Service Association as part of a nationwide effort to enact Original Equipment Manufacturers repair procedures legislation, ultimately failed.  The bill requires insurers to cover OEM repair procedures and for the repairer to meet or exceed specification and to inform the consumer if calibration is needed and whether it was performed and performed successfully.

Text of the bill can be found here: http://gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/billText.aspx?sy=2020&id=2077&txtFormat=html
