Connecticut Bill Would Require Indoor Shop

February 5, 2021

Legislation introduced in the Connecticut General Assembly proposes to require motor vehicle glass repair shops to maintain physical places of business within the state.

The bill, H 6220 introduced by Rep. Jason Perillo, would prohibit auto glass companies from operating in Connecticut on a completely mobile basis.  Under the proposal, auto glass shops applying for or renewing their Connecticut state registration would be required to “maintain a physical place of business within the state that has indoor facilities to perform motor vehicle glass repair services and from which mobile services are dispatched”.

The bill has been assigned to the Committee on General Law.  Committees in the Connecticut General Assembly are joint Senate and House Committees.
