AGSC and NWRD Certification Application

Certification exam applicants should meet the following minimum requirements prior to purchasing and taking the test. If you do not meet ALL of these requirements you should visit the AGSC Training Resources page and receive more training prior to taking the certification exam.
If you are employed by an AGSC Member and are not sure if you have free exams available, DO NOT COMPLETE THIS FORM. Contact Mindy Hood, AGSC Certification Manager, at mhood@agsc.org first.
Please note: Once the below registration form has been submitted to AGSC, no refunds are allowed. The test must be taken within 6 months of notification of the user ID and password. Fee covers up to three (3) attempts to pass the certification exam. Technicians who work for non-AGSC companies receive a designation of "qualified".
Auto Glass Replacement Technician Level:
- Understand and can use a NAGS Catalog and NAGS calculator.
- Understand OSHA required safety regulations.
- Conduct all installations according to the current AGRSS Standard.
- Competent in all types of auto glass replacement from windshields to backlites and gaskets to urethane.
- An understanding of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
NWRD Repair Exam
- Understand the steps necessary for a company and its individuals to be in compliance with ANSI/AGSC/NWRD/ROLAGS 002-2022, the Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standard (ROLAGS™).
Glass Calibration Specialist (ADAS) Exam
- Understands the fundamentals of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and their role in vehicle safety.
- Knowledgeable in the different types of ADAS technologies, including forward-facing cameras, radar, lidar, and sensors.
- Able to identify when recalibration is required prior to auto glass replacement, repair, or other vehicle service.
- Understands OE and aftermarket calibration procedures, and the importance of following manufacturer specifications.
- Familiar with both static and dynamic calibration methods and the equipment required for each.
- Competent in performing pre- and post-calibration scans, interpreting diagnostic trouble codes, and documenting results.
- Understands how to properly set up and maintain a safe work environment during calibration procedures.
- Knowledgeable in customer communication regarding the necessity of calibration, safety implications, and service expectations.
Auto Glass Replacement Master Level:
- 3+ years in the auto glass industry and have passed the Technician exam.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in custom cutting and finishing of automotive laminated glass.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in intermediate level automotive electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and equipment.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in OSHA required employer safety regulations.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in OEM sunroof repair and replacement techniques.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in advanced wind noise and water leak diagnosis and repair.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in conducting installations according to the current AGRSS standard.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in current standards and regulations that apply to the auto glass industry.
- An understanding of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Customer Service Representative Exam
- Understands the importance of professionalism, courtesy, and effective communication in all customer interactions.
- Knowledgeable about the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) mission, certification programs, and industry standards.
- Able to clearly explain repair and replacement processes to customers, including AGRSS™ and ROLAGS™ standards.
- Provides accurate cost estimates, assists with scheduling services, and explains insurance or warranty details when needed.
- Maintains confidentiality and properly handles sensitive customer and company information.
- Skilled in handling customer complaints, resolving issues, and escalating matters appropriately.
- Familiar with basic workplace safety practices within the auto glass environment.
- Coordinates effectively with technicians to ensure accurate documentation and smooth workflow between office and shop operations.
- Understands the importance of empathy.
- Knows when and how to "close" the deal and book the job.
