Calibration Tool Companies Submit Declarations of Conformance

May 1, 2024

Nine calibration equipment companies have provided the Auto Glass Safety Council (AGSC) with a Declaration of Conformance to the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS™).

By submitting a declaration, these companies testify that their Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration tools, if used correctly, comply with the AGRSS Standard by performing to OEM specifications. The AGSC asks that all companies that distribute ADAS calibration equipment submit a Declaration of Conformance.

The companies that have submitted declarations are:

  • ADAS Technologies LLC (Auggie)
  • AirPro Diagnostics
  • AUTEL
  • Bosch
  • Launch Tech
  • Pilkington (Opti-Aim)
  • SmartSafe Tech USA LTD
  • Snap-On Equipment, Inc.
  • Xtooltech USA, Inc.

“It speaks volumes for a tool company to come out and say ‘AGSC we stand behind you, we’ve recognized and understand the auto glass industry’s only standard and we’re going to stand behind it and we’re going to do everything in our power to follow it to the letter,’” Jacques Navant, chair of the AGSC ADAS committee, says.

Navant says calibration companies submitting declarations of conformance is also good for AGSC registered member companies.

“What this highlights to members is, here’s a list of companies that get it,” he says. “They have the same goals for safety that your company does. That’s why you’re a member. It’s almost like kindred spirits joining together and saying ‘we’re going to make a difference today.’”

The Auto Glass Safety Council is an accredited American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards development organization. It has developed North America’s only auto glass replacement standard, the AGRSS™ Standard (ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS 005-2022 Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard). The AGRSS Standard addresses procedures, education and product performance. It is a continuous maintenance standard.
