A bill has been filed in the New Hampshire legislature that has implications for doing business in the state.

The bill would require automobile insurance companies to reimburse independent auto glass shops similarly to dealerships. It proposes to add the following language to the state’s insurance law in the section titled “Unfair Insurance Practices; Automobile or Glass Repair:”

“The ‘fair and reasonable price’ shall not be lower than that customarily paid to a repair shop or facility in the area that is part of or affiliated with an automobile dealership.”

The bill was introduced on January 3 and referred to the House’s Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee.
