Bob Beranek provided an update on the latest changes to the AGSC AGRSS Standard to Auto Glass Week attendees.
Bob Beranek, chair of the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Standards Committee, offered Auto Glass Week™ attendees a detailed look at some coming updates to the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standard (AGRSS®).
Beranek noted that the Standard is being updated to better cover anti-pinch sidelite systems.
“You basically have to retrain the door glass to recognize if an object gets in the way,” he noted.
If a child sticks his head out of an open window, for instance, the system should recognize this, he pointed out.
For installers looking to collect recalibration information, he recommended looking online or buying a 24-hour subscription to an automaker’s information site to download instructions.
