Auto Glass Week™ 2021 Competition Winners Announced

The exciting contests to find the world’s best auto glass installation technician, auto glass repair technician, auto glass calibration technician, and auto glass customer service representative came to a close June 9th in Orlando with the announcement of the winners during Auto Glass Week™ 2021.

Pilkington Clear Advantage Automotive Glass Technician Competition (AGTO)

In the Pilkington Clear Advantage Automotive Glass Technician Competition (AGTO), competitors are judged on their professionalism, knowledge, and proper product, equipment and tools usage as well as proper auto glass removal and installation procedures and techniques.

Macenzie Curbow

Macenzie Curbow of Novus Glass in Kennewick, Washington won the gold medal. Curbow, an AGSC Certified Master Replacement Technician, took home $10,000, the winning trophy, and bragging rights as the “World’s Best Auto Glass Installation Technician for 2021.”

Winning is not new to Curbow. He won this same competition the last time it was held at Auto Glass Week 2019. To meet the winner, CLICK HERE. Curbow’s wife, Jen, also competed at Auto Glass Week in the Delta Kits Windshield Repair Competition and took home the bronze medal and a $100 prize.

Jorge Sandoval of KD Auto Glass in Moreno Valley, California won the silver medal and $1,000. James Chapman of Richardson Glass Service, Inc. in Newark, Ohio won the bronze medal and $500. Chapman is an AGSC Certified Technician and Sandoval is an AGSC Qualified Technician.

Novus Glass of Kennewick has been a member of the Auto Glass Safety Council since 2015 and Richardson Glass Service has been a member since 2014.

Opti-Aim Auto Glass Calibration Competition

In the Opti-Aim Auto Glass Calibration Competition, competitors are judged on their in-depth knowledge, calibration assessment and preparation, material assembly and placement, static calibration procedures, and post-calibration procedures.

Mark Rogers of Mel’s Auto Glass in Cincinnati, Ohio was the grand champion winning $5,000, a trophy and bragging rights as the “World’s Best Auto Glass Calibration Technician.” This was Roger’s first year competing. “It was tough,” Rogers said. “The guys I went up against are really good, and I didn’t think that I was going to get it, but I’m here.”

Mel’s Auto Glass has been a member of the Auto Glass Safety Council since 2015.

Auto Glass Customer Service (CSR) Competition

The CSR Competition is designed to recognize those who are the voice of the auto glass industry – the individuals who interact with customers on behalf of an organization and work hard to secure business for years to come. Competitors participate in a “mystery shopper” experience during the preliminary rounds and are graded by a team of judges. The top scorers were invited to compete in person in the finals round that was held June 9.

Jace Geffken of Transparency Auto Glass in Garner, North Carolina was named the Grand Champion in the Auto Glass Customer Service Representative (CSR) Competition. Geffken took home $1,000 in prize money, the trophy and accolades.

Transparency Auto Glass has been a member of the Auto Glass Safety Council since 2018.
