Auto glass will be exempt from a newly enacted Rhode Island law that would prohibit insurers from denying the use of OEM parts for vehicles that are between 4 and 6 years old. The glass exemption is already part of an existing Rhode Island law that was slightly amended to allow car owners to use OEM parts for the repair of their vehicles that are 4-6 years old.

The legislation, SB 2440, passed the Rhode Island Senate on May 7, the House on June 13, and became law without the Governor’s signature on June 28.  For text of the bill CLICK HERE.
