Applying to Become an AGSC Registered Member Company

June 18, 2014

Applying to become an Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) Registered Member company may seem like an overwhelming task based on the application documents, but it really is not.

One of the biggest issues I see with companies seeking AGSC registration is that some submit incomplete applications. The documents that must be completed in order to become an AGSC Registered Member company are:

  • The Application to Become a Registered Member Company;
  • Attachment B-Declaration of Standard Conformance; and
  • The deliverable documents.

The most common items missing from applications that are submitted are the completed Attachment B and copies of all of the eight deliverables mentioned within Attachment B.

Attachment B–Declaration of Standard Conformance is a self-audit of the company whereby a company certifies that it complies with the current ANSI/AGRSS Standard™. In order for Attachment B to be accepted/approved by the AGSC, all of the items must be checked with a “yes.” If the company cannot answer “yes” to each item, a company representative can contact us and we will be more than happy to recommend an individual who can assist the company with its questions or provide clarification regarding the Standard if that is needed. In other words, we will work with you so that you can get to “yes.”

The company also must submit copies of the eight deliverables mentioned within Attachment B and noted on the Deliverables Check-List (the last page of Attachment B). Most urethane manufacturers have a deliverables packet (i.e., Dow Automotive ANSI/AGRSS Accreditation Assistance Package, Sika AGRSS Tool Kit, etc.) already available. This packet may either be obtained by referencing the AGR technician training manual of the company’s urethane manufacturer, visiting the urethane manufacturer’s website or by contacting the urethane manufacturer’s representative. The company does, however, need to follow the instructions provided in the deliverables packet in order to provide the correct deliverable documents.

All of the application documents are available on the AGSC website at https://agsc.org/become-a-member/.

As always, any questions regarding the application, the documents required or the application process can be directed to me at 540/602-3263 or kbimber@agsc.org.
