Both AGTO gold medalists are certified with the AGSC.The winners of the Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician Competition (AGTO) were named in October in San Antonio, where Auto Glass Week™ was held. Leading the circle of winners were an AGSC Certified Technician and an AGSC Master Technician.
Desmonde Ellington, an AGSC Certified Technician with Glasspro Inc. in Mount Pleasant, S.C., took the gold for the AGTO large-size company division.
Alfredo Calva, an AGSC Master Technician with Alfredo’s Auto Glass in Corona, Calif., took the gold for the AGTO regular-size company division.
Both gold-medal winners were awarded a prize of $5,000.
The AGTO judges also recognized Brandon Tow, an AGSC Certified Technician with TechnaGlass Inc. in Grand Junction, Colo., with an Ingenuity Award for his part storage system, allowing for quick and easy storage of removal tools. It also provides storage for removed parts without losing them in the engine compartment or possibly causing damage.
