AGSC Certification Required for Technicians Employed by AGSC Registered Member Companies

November 15, 2022

It is a requirement of AGSC membership that all auto glass replacement (AGR) technicians employed by AGSC Registered Member Companies be AGSC certified technicians. This requirement began to be phased in on December 31, 2018 and members were asked to begin phasing their employment practices into it.

This means that ALL of your technicians must take and pass the AGSC technician certification test. This is a condition of AGSC membership. AGSC has made it easy for technicians to certify. Online training is available and up to three free certification tests per year are included with your membership.

If any of your AGR technicians are not AGSC certified, they need to become certified right away in order to retain your AGSC membership. The only exception is for newly hired technicians who have up to six months from their date of hire to become AGSC-certified. If you are not sure if all of your technicians are AGSC certified, contact Vinny LaMarco, AGSC certification director at his contact information below.

The AGSC does check the certification status of a Registered Member Company’s technicians at the time of its yearly registration renewal. If any technicians are not AGSC-certified, the company is sent a notice of non-compliance providing the names of the technicians who need to become certified and a deadline for that certification to have taken place. Companies found not to have all of their technicians AGSC certified by the deadline will have their AGSC registration removed following that notice. They will no longer be members of AGSC, and their membership benefits will immediately cease.

To register your technicians to take the online AGSC technician certification test, visit www.agsc.org/technician-certification/ or contact Vinny LaMarco at vlamarco@agsc.org or 540-602-3252.
